About
Araknions are spider like creatures that are highly aggressive hunters. Their predatorial instinct is what drives them more than their moderate intellect. They are large, strong, and powerful, and are extremely quick when running.
The protruding limbs of the Araknion is simply one method of attack, but the most powerful is from a small secondary head above the mouth that is capable of firing an extremely paralysing toxin. This toxin is highly sought after by rogue states, countries and hunters of all kinds from Pescarans to Kahns and Spirax.
The Araknion toxin is the only one currently on Anarkand that no other inhabitant is believed to be able to withstand. It is this feature that gives it incredible value. The problem of course is sourcing the toxin, as it is no easy feat to find, kill, and remove the toxin from the Araknion, not least of all because of its location deep in the heart of the perilous Nekata Forest.
Araknions may be feared by those outside the forest, but Lifa Nekatans of all kinds, especially those that live in the forest itself, have a deep understanding and somewhat of a sacred relationship with the creature. Beautiful ornaments, structures and statues can be found throughout the many centres of Lifa Nekata that depict the Araknion in graceful poses.
The locals are very respectful of the creatures territory and understand the boundaries that it demands. The locals pay heed to the warnings of the Araknion and have enjoyed a somewhat unusual connection with the species.
Araknions have a strong connection with the Nekata Forest and very rarely explore beyond tits borders. They are very protective of the forest, and when observed late in the 10th era, and in subsequent observations, its has been demonstrated that they are equally as protective of many of the other strange inhabitants that they share a world space with.
