Where Melba are native to the South Turrican Ocean, their very similar cousins, the Polvo, are native to the north. Polvo, like Melba, are also anadromous: they hatch in the shallow gravel beds of freshwater headstreams and migrate to the ocean after the conclusion of the juvenile months.



Polvo play a greater significance in Anarkian commerce than the Melba as they are far more abundant. They are just as much an important food fish as their cousins and they too are intensively farmed, although mainly in northern countries of Anarkand such as, Kanesh, Natnimya, and Nova Lianaris.



The Temple of Anark successfully passed a rule that would allow for Polvo to be introduced to other non-native environments, much to the dismay of some of the northern countries, who believe they will feel the effects of a substantial commercial exporting hit.
