Sarahpods have plagued the ecosystems of Anarkand for centuries. Believed to have originated from the depths of the Nekata Forest, the exact origins of Sarahpods remain a mystery, with some scholars speculating that they may be a form of bioweapon created by an ancient civilization, while others believe they are a natural anomaly that evolved in isolation.


These insidious creatures resemble small pods, ranging in size from 6 to 20 inches tall, with a smooth, glossy surface that can vary in colour from light blue to a vibrant green. Despite their seemingly innocuous appearance, Sarahpods possess a deadly arsenal of toxins and reproductive mechanisms that make them one of the most feared pests in Anarkand.


Sarahpods are highly poisonous organisms, capable of delivering a potent venom through their skin upon contact. This venom is lethal to most creatures, causing paralysis, convulsions, and eventual death. However, it is not their venom that makes Sarahpods truly dangerous, but rather their insidious method of reproduction.


When a Sarahpod comes into the vicinity of a living creature, it will instinctively burst open, releasing its spores into the air in the hopes of finding a suitable host. Once inhaled, these spores begin to germinate and develop within the host's body, gradually forming new Sarahpods over the course of several weeks.


As these new Sarahpods mature, they cause excruciating pain and discomfort to the host, often resulting in severe illness and incapacitation. Eventually, the mature Sarahpods will begin to exit the host's body through any available orifice, including the mouth, eyes, ears, and even through the skin, leaving the host weakened and vulnerable.


Throughout history, Sarahpods have been universally despised and reviled by the inhabitants of Anarkand, who view them as nothing more than a scourge upon the land. Their ability to rapidly multiply and spread makes them particularly difficult to eradicate, leading to widespread fear and paranoia among the populace.


Communities living near the Nekata Forest often live in constant fear of Sarahpod infestations, taking extreme measures to avoid contact with the creatures and prevent their spread. Despite efforts to control their populations, Sarahpods continue to thrive, their presence serving as a constant reminder of the dangers lurking within the depths of the forest.
